4-H

Several local homeschoolers are active in the 4-H programs.
Loretta Sills or Monica Lamb can answer questions about 4-H.
The local group excels in drama and shooting.

AWANA

New Life Bible Church and Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville provide this outstanding club. AWANA is for girls and boys through 6th grade and focuses on learning scripture while having lots of fun.

Girl Scouts

K-12th grade girls may be involved with Girl Scouts.
There are approximately 175 girl scouts in Cooke County. The local group belongs to the Cross Timber Girl Scout council. Questions?

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts

1st through 5th grade boys can be Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts learn safety, history, life skills, and family building activities.
We have our own Homeschool Cub Scout Pack that meets during morning Enrichment Classes on Fridays (See Angela Dick) There are also 2 other Cub Scout Packs in the Gainesville/Lindsay area. All Packs run meetings and activities Sept-May.

BOY SCOUTS start at age 11 and can participate until age 18. There is no requirement to have been a Cub Scout first. Boy Scouts teaches Camping and outdoor skills, but more importantly teaches leadership skills and responsible independence. There are 2 Gainesville Boy Scout Troops and 1 in Muenster.
